46th FESTIVAL DES 3 CONTINENTS

2024 POSTER: ‘NOUS, COSMOPOLITES’ (WE COSMOPOLITANS)

The Festival des 3 Continents is pleased to reveal the poster for its 46th edition, to be held from the 15th to the 23rd of November, 2024 in Nantes and the Loire-Atlantique region. A repeat performance in Paris is scheduled for January 2025.

The poster, designed by the graphic design studio LESBEAUXJOURS, features one of the young characters from Olivier Babinet's Swagger, released in 2016, a film that ties in with this year's thematic programme, ‘Nous, Cosmopolites’ (We Cosmopolitans), a programme dedicated to French cinema and the strength of its plurality.

« A programme of French films at the Festival des 3 Continents! A contradiction in terms?

No, says Jérôme Baron, the festival's artistic director. We've been working hard on this programme for some time now, and we want to fully affirm the changing aspects and vitality of French cinema through the prism of our cosmopolitanism.

We don’t want it to be impossible or unthinkable, but rather a desirable horizon, a fortune that has been unfairly depreciated, and beyond the divisions and the many untruths that are expressed, we also want to look our youth in the eye, in the same movement, the influx of their energy and the ebb of their anxieties, those that run through us.

With clenched fists and a smile on their faces, their desire to fight and to invent a world that is worth living in: one that resembles us and brings us together ».

India and Hong Kong will be the guests of honour this year, and the main lines of programming for the Festival des 3 Continents will be made public on October 1st, when ticket sales open. The Official Selection will be revealed at the press conference on the 24th of October, 2024.

The Festival des 3 Continents is a cinematographic event offering a different view of cinema and the world through a unique selection of films from Africa, Latin America and Asia. It has been held every year since 1979 in Nantes and the Loire-Atlantique region.

Organised by the non-profit association Les 3 Continents, the festival is committed to promoting access to culture for all, with a focus on accessibility for disabled audiences, sustainable development and support for equality and diversity in the film industry.
