27th Brooklyn Film Festival “Immersion” Announces Award Winners

Atikamekw Suns by Chloé Leriche wins Grand Chameleon Award

Brooklyn, NY (June 11, 2024) – The 27th edition of the Brooklyn Film Festival (BFF), which was staged both in person at Windmill Studios, the Wythe Hotel Theater, and online, wrapped up Sunday, June 9th, and has announced the award winners. ATIKAMEKW SUNS by Chloé Leriche picked up the coveted Grand Chameleon and the Best Narrative Feature awards, while IMPOSSIBLE TOWN by Meg Griffiths and Scott Faris took home the award for Best Documentary Feature. A full list of award winners is below.

Three groups determined the winners: 1) The external panel of judges; 2) The festival Board of Directors; and 3) the Audience. Through the resources of industry-related sponsors, selected filmmakers are awarded prizes in cash, products and services. To learn more about the BFF selection process and check the full awards breakdown, visit our Winners and Awards & Prizes pages on our website.

Marco Ursino, BFF Director, said this, “All of the films selected to screen at this year’s BFF are winners. We had 3,351 films, a festival record, from 103 countries for our 27th edition. I think that being part of the 158 films selected (including KidsFilmFest program) to be presented at the festival, it’s already a big win. We are thrilled to once again show our audiences what the world of filmmaking has to offer. Thank you to all of the filmmakers for sharing their immersive films with us.”

Prizes sponsored by: Brooklyn Film Society, Jack Studios, Be Electric, Blue Table Post, Cinelease, Phygital FX, MPE, Media Services, AbelCine, Lentini Communications, Wythe Hotel, and Bar Blondeau.
