The Mise En Scéne Company (MSC) has secured world rights to TV series 'Driven'

The Mise En Scéne Company (MSC) has secured world rights to TV series 'Driven' starring Rebecca Henderson (Star Wars: The Acolyte) & Liza Colón-Zayas (The Bear).

London & New York based film sales agency The Mise En Scéne Company (MSC), in a business diversifying move, has signed world rights to scripted series “Driven” starring REBECCA HENDERSON of “Star Wars: The Acolyte” (Disney) and “Russian Doll” (Netflix) as well as LIZA COLÓN-ZAYAS of “The Bear” (FX). The project is produced by O Positive Films in New York and created by David Shane repped by 3 Arts Entertainment.

Driven tells the story of Theodora “Teddy” Fischer (Henderson), an Uber driver and failed post-POST- modern novelist who is living in her brother's laundry room after getting fired from an animated children's show for slipping a talking vagina into a now infamous episode, and because her wife left her for the Pilates instructor. While contemplating suicide, Teddy gets a ride request from Yari Alvarez (Krissy Lemon), an overly confident, deaf, Puerto Rican yodeller, who insists that Teddy drive her to her parents' McMansion to defend her as a fellow artist. Simply put, it doesn't go well. Reina (Colón-Zayas), Yari's no-bullshit-mother, kicks them both out, as her comically conflict-avoidant father, Hernan (Gary Perez), does his best to disappear into the furniture. The show then follows these two protagonists as they navigate the challenges of balancing life and artistic aspirations.

O Positive Films describe the project as being “about the drive to create. To confidently call oneself an artist in a world quick to label one a relentless hack.” O Positive have currently completed a pilot episode, and, together with MSC, will be bringing the show to potential production partners, TV networks and streamers in the US and UK.

Regarding the deal Paul Yates MSC CEO said: “We're really excited to be branching out to the scripted arena, this is new territory for us as our primary focus to date has been feature films. We love the show, it’s a hilarious, sophisticated, irreverent dramedy with sharp social commentary and refreshingly bold representation. Our hope is to find production partners and distributors to come on board and help us complete the series. Happily, the show isn’t burdened with the outlandish price tag of similar high-end scripted shows, and we see a healthy appetite in both the industry and audiences for productions like this. David is a joy to work with and we're excited to continue our collaboration to make the show the best it can be.”

Regarding the deal David Shane of O Positive Films said: “This is an exciting move for our company to transition into the scripted space. We're looking forward to bringing this show to the world and we are thrilled to be working with the team at MSC who's expertise and passion match our ambitions for the show.”

Creator David Shane began his career working alongside Trey Parker and Matt Stone on South Park and has since gained prominence in the advertising world, having directed countless A-listers such as Robert De Nero, Timothee Chalamet, Patrick Stewart and Will Ferral. He is a multiple DGA nominated director who has won numerous awards for his commercials and short films including six Cannes Lions and an EMMY.

The deal was negotiated between The Mise En Scéne Company’s Paul Yates and Rory MacDonald, who are handling the global sales, and David Shane of O Positive Films.
