Universal Studios Hollywood 60th anniversary of the Tram Back-Lot Tour

UNIVERSAL STUDIOS HOLLYWOOD:

HAPPY 60th ANNIVERSARY TO THE TRAM BACK LOT TOUR!

By Emmanuel Itier.

Since 1964, Universal Studios Hollywood, has been offering visitors, with the back lot tour, an amazing magical glimpse at what is going on in the studios and how movies are made. Since the 60’s over 200 million visitors were able to fall under the spell of Universal Studios and be part of the dreamlike journey through the making of so many iconic movies. This year, the public will have a chance to step off the tram and to visit the set of the ‘Psycho’ legendary Bates Motels with a very “close” encounter with Norman Bates. You will then, be able to take a picture with the shark from Jaws as well as with some muscle cars from ‘Fast and Furious’ and even have a cool selfie with King Kong! This truly adds a fun twist to the regular back lot tour that includes the amazing 3D experience of ‘King Kong’ and of ‘Fast and Furious’.

After the fantastic tram tour celebration our boys and I were able to experience our favorite rides. A must new “go ride” is the Mario Kart experience located in the Super Mario land where we recommend you have lunch at the ‘Toadstool café’ with its signature mushroom soup and chicken Luigi burger. I suggest you head straight to that lower park and try to get on the Mario ride and book yourself a table at the restaurant as this is your best pick. If this plan doesn’t work or you get to the park to late, then the best “atmosphere” like journey is to visit the Harry Potter enchanting land with its iconic ‘The Three Broomsticks’ restaurant. Let me suggest the family dinner which will give you a sample of all the best English dishes one should indulge with, from fish and ships to Roasted chicken, corn and yummy veggies. What a feast!

Beyond the wild ride that a splashy ‘Jurassic world’ provides (this time I got totally soaked! Thank God it is summer, and I dried in an hour or so. Haha!) or the adrenaline frantic roller coaster of ‘The Mummy Revenge’ I invite you to “feel” the international vibe of the village close to the ‘Minion’ experience and the ‘Life of the pets’ magical journey. This is where you can stroll in the streets of Paris or London. You will even, probably, encounter some of the legendary Universal monsters such as Dracula and Frankenstein. And don’t forget to get yourself a double espresso to keep you going, unless it’s happy hour and you want to hit the Irish pub to get a cocktail of your choice. Universal Studios Hollywood has everything for the whole family, and this is a must summer stop! So, get online and buy your tickets or even, an annual pass as I guarantee you will want to come back, over and over. Fasten your seatbelt and may the fun rides begin!
