The fresh news are that the 20th edition of the
Docu Talents from the East knows its awarded films, and we have also introduced the new generation of
Emerging Producers 2025 in Sarajevo last week.
Now it is the right time to plan your trip to Jihlava and secure your
industry accreditation at an early bird rate, or register to some of the industry programmes such as
Festival identity or
Ji.hlava Academy. We hope to meet you at the festival at the end of October!

DOCU TALENT AWARDS 2024 FOR PROJECTS FROM LITHUANIA AND POLAND
Eight outstanding documentary projects from Central and
Eastern Europe were presented at the jubilee 20th edition of Docu
Talents from the East in Sarajevo. The international jury decided to
award Baltix UXO
(Lithuania/Germany/Latvia) by directors Agnė Dovydaitytė
and Alexander Belinski, produced by Dagnė
Vildžiūnaitė. The award is accompanied with financial
prize $5,000 in cooperation with the festival’s partner Current Time
TV. The €3,000 in-kind DAFilms.com Distribution Award was awarded to The Big Chief
by Polish director Tomasz Wolski, produced
by Anna Gawlita. The award covers international
VOD release on DAFilms.com (including Americas, Europe, Asia) for two

EMERGING PRODUCERS 2025
WITH CANADA AS A GUEST COUNTRY
The names of 18 up-and-coming
documentary film producers were announced this week in
Sarajevo. The European producers are
accompanied by a producer from this year’s guest country, Canada, will
take part in two workshops (in Jihlava in October 2024 and in Berlin in
February 2025). If you are looking for co-producers for
your projects or just want to see who the rising stars of film
production in your country are, check out the EMERGING PRODUCERS portal

REGISTRATIONS TO FESTIVAL
IDENTITY ARE OPEN
The 15th edition of Festival Identity – a
networking platform for film festivals at the Ji.hlava IDFF – will
search for sustainable ways how to collaborate effectively among film
festivals in the environment which often accentuates competitiveness. The
Festival Identity workshop will take place on October 29–30 and
the 300 EUR participation fee includes three nights of accommodation as
well as industry accreditation with masterclasses, presentations,
discussions, Ji.hlava New Visions Forum & Market, Matchmaking
Accelerator, and more. Registrations are now open.

DOORS OPEN TO JI.HLAVA
ACADEMY 2024
Over the course of four days (October 29 – November 1), Ji.hlava Academy
will offer a creative lab for those dedicated to
make, reflect upon or share contemporary films. Film
shootings will be accompanied by lectures, discussions and talks
focusing on the creative process of filmmaking – all under the guidance
of experienced and unorthodox tutors: Anja
Salomonowitz, an acclaimed Vienna-based film director
and screenwriter, and Khavn De La Cruz, a
renowned Filipino filmmaker, poet, and composer. We receive applications
until September 15.

accreditations. An early bird price of €60 is available
until September 30, discounts are granted to film
school students. Ji.hlava industry programme will feature a rich
variety of events which include masterclasses, presentations,
discussions, Ji.hlava New Visions Forum & Market, Matchmaking
Accelerator, full access to the festival screenings and more.
