It's a wrap for the 2024 Festival of Cinema NYC!


Festival of Cinema NYC announced this year’s filmmaker award winners at a warm and joyful celebration at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center. It concluded the 8th edition of the Forest Hills-based film festival with Delfine Paolini’s A Wonderful Way With Dragons which won Best Narrative Feature Film, and also took home Best Cinematography for Abdelsalam Moussa’s work on the film. Claudia Myers and Laura Waters Hinson’s The Test took Best Documentary, with Derek Shane Garcia’s A/Way winning Audience Choice for Feature Film, and Priscil·la Zanni’s Wrong Move winning Audience Choice Award for short film

Top individual awards went to; Robert Strazzarino (Pentaclub) for Best Director, Aaron Poon (Third Week) for Breakthrough Male Performance; and Patricia Clune (Prime Real Estate) for Breakthrough Female Performance.

The 2024 Festival of Cinema NYC was an incredible 10-day event with over 115 short and feature length films from independent filmmakers around the world. 
Guests were treated to panels, seminars, and networking events that took place throughout Forest Hills and Rego Park. Filmmakers from all over the world flew in to mingle with attendees and talk about their films.
Special presenters included Oscar Nominee Matthew Heineman, as well as members from the Make A Film Foundation, Project Blackbird, Ghetto Film School, and the Motion Picture Technical High School.
