Silver Scream Con Brings a Weekend of Macabre Celebration for Genre Friends

Tickets Available Now at silverscreamcon.com

The body count is mounting as Silver Scream Con- The Three-quel, announced more celebrity guests for the third edition of the popular horror-convention at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA September 13th-15th. Tickets and information are available now at silverscreamcon.com.

The first two Silver Scream Cons in 2022 and 2023 were frightfully successful and having a 9-foot demon of Hell cosplayer walking around the lobby of a hotel in Danvers, MA carrying a Starbucks cup, was a sign that 2024’s Con needed a bigger venue.

"Logistically, the DCU Center gives us the opportunity to house more guests, to house more vendors, to have a bigger room for the panels,” said Spencer Charnas, the inspiration for Silver Scream Con and frontman of the chart-topping horror/metal band Ice Nine Kills (aka INK).

“It’s almost like we’re taking over the town when we do it in Worcester, because there are hotels all around the DCU. You have venues there, great restaurants, and it’s going to be like our own mini — I guess, I would call it — Sundance of the Dead.”

This iteration of Silver Scream Con welcomes a Who’s Who of Horror to Worcester. At this year's bigger, better, and bloodier convention, Silver Scream Con will welcome genre icons David Arquette (Scream,Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and Massachusetts’ own Eli Roth, who makes his first ever appearance at a horror convention, on his home turf. He is best known for directing Cabin Fever, The Hostel franchise, and 2023’s Thanksgiving, an homage to the era when Slashers reigned blood all over the movie going public in the 80’s.

Producer, co-creator and director of the original Friday the 13th, Sean S. Cunningham will be in attendance, along with the original Jason, Ari Lehman, Derek Mears, (Jason from the 2009 reboot), and Warrington Gillette (Friday the 13th Part 2).

The Halloween movies will be well represented by original cast members Nick Castle (The Shape), PJ Soles (Lynda), and John Michael Graham (Bob), along with James Jude Courtney, and Danielle Harris, who are both beloved stars of the Halloween franchise. Cinema Psychos, aka the 3 masters of on-screen slaughter, Lee Waddell (Scream), Quinn Lord (Trick ‘r Treat) and Bob Elmore (Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2) are ready to slay it at Silver Scream Con this year.

With Terrifier 3 hitting theaters in October, Silver Scream Con celebrates the first two films of the series with writer and director for Terrifier and Terrifier 2 Damien Leone, along with members of the cast including David Howard Thornton (Art the Clown), Amelie McLain, Lauren LaVera, and Elliott Fullam (Terrifier 2 and 3).

Charnas said that “One of my favorite horror-comedy cult classics of all time, Idle Hands, marks its 25th anniversary this year, and we are honored that the legendary stars of the film, Devon Sawa (also the titular Chucky) and Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe streaming television series Daredevil) join us for the weekend.

“It wouldn’t be a Silver Scream Con without the cast from the INK cinematic universe,” Charnas continued. “I’m proud to welcome these very talented Welcome to Horrorwood stars: Bill Moseley, Scout Taylor Compton, Ricky Dean Logan and Nadia Teichmann!”

The Women of Horror will descend on the DCU Center, with Bonnie Aarons, the Nun from The Conjuring universe (The Conjuring 2, The Nun, and The Nun II); Shawnee Smith (Saw I-IV); ‘90s horror film star Linnea Quigley (The Return of the Living Dead); and Cerina Vincent (Maya in the television series Power Rangers Lost Galaxy), making appearances.

Joining in on the gruesome fun will be Jamie Kennedy, who played Randy Meeks in the Scream franchise and a multitude of characters in The Jamie Kennedy Experiment; Bob Elmore (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2); and stars of Super Troopers and Beerfest, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske from the Broken Lizard comedy troupe.

This extreme weekend includes photo ops, celebrity signings, costume contests, scary-oke and discussion panels hosted by culture journalist Ryan J. Downey and one of the most recognized personalities in hard rock, Jose Mangin.

Ice Nine Kills performs live in concert at The Palladium Outdoors in Worcester with special guests In This Moment, Avatar, and TX2 on Saturday, September 14. INK will continue on the road with Metallica through the end of 2024.

SILVER SCREAM CON takes place September 13-15th at the DCU Center in Worcester, MA. Tickets are on sale now at silverscreamcon.com.
