Ji.hlava IDFF Docu Talents selection 2024 & last calls for filmmakers

 

This Sunday in Sarajevo, we will present the Docu Talents from the East 2024 – eight of the most remarkable documentary projects from Central and Eastern Europe in post-production and we look forward to meeting you there! We would like to bring to your attention also the August 15 deadline, which is relevant for both European and Asian projects applying to the Ji.hlava New Visions Forum as well as for filmmakers from Caucasus region to whom we offer allowances covering their participation at this year's Ji.hlava. The Ji.hlava Industry Days (October 29 – November 1) include a large number of activities. Among them Ji.hlava Academy for emerging filmmakers and Festival Identity workshop for film festival representatives. Registrations to both are now open. In addition, all film professionals can still benefit from industry accreditations at an early bird rate! ANNOUNCING THE DOCU TALENTS FROM THE EAST 2024  Eight remarkable projects from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Ukraine will be presented during the CineLink Industry Days at Sarajevo Film Festival. The Docu Talents from the East 2024 presentation will take place this Sunday, August 18 from 2.30 PM at Swissôtel Sarajevo (Vrbanja 1). The award ceremony will take place on the same day from 6.30 PM at the Festival Garden situated next to the presentations' venue. The 2023 Docu Talents projects included festivals' hit Between Revolutions by Vlad Petri and the IDFA opener A Picture to Remember by Olga Chernykh, among others. Join us and explore this year's cream of the crop of documentary projects from Central and Eastern Europe in post-production. JI.HLAVA NEW VISIONS: EUROPE AND ASIA   We invite filmmakers from both Europe and East & Southeast Asia to submit their projects to the Ji.hlava New Visions Forum & Market 2024! Projects presented at the Forum in the past three years have later premiered at festivals including HotDocs, Rotterdam, Berlinale, Cannes, and Locarno. We welcome diverse audiovisual formats such as fiction with documentary aspects, hybrid, experimental, short films, docu and web series, cinema expanded projects, games with documentary aspects, and VR+AR+Live documentaries. REGISTRATIONS TO FESTIVAL IDENTITY ARE OPEN The 15th edition of Festival Identity – a networking platform for film festivals at the Ji.hlava IDFF – will search for sustainable ways how to collaborate effectively among film festivals in the environment which often accentuates competitiveness. The Festival Identity workshop will take place on October 29–30 and the 300 EUR participation fee includes three nights of accommodation as well as industry accreditation with masterclasses, presentations, discussions, Ji.hlava New Visions Forum & Market, Matchmaking Accelerator, and more. Registrations are now open.

 

 

ALLOWANCES FOR FILMMAKERS FROM CAUCASUS Together with the IEFTA – International Emerging Film Talent Association, we invite documentary filmmakers from Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia to participate in the Industry program of the upcoming Ji.hlava IDFF. Three selected participants will receive industry accreditations with access to all festival’s film screenings as well as the entire industry program and will be included in the festival’s Matchmaking Accelerator. Furthermore, their travel and accommodation will be covered. Apply until August 15.
